自从躲避了吴国宫殿的那场大火，
千年来一直在楚地的屋宇下迎接春天。
你的翅膀迎着风雨，矫健有力；
你的鸣叫声声传入门户庭院，如此频繁。
你掠过水面，飞过长长的沙洲；
你衔着虫子，掉落时尘土覆盖了它。
请不要将汉朝的皇后，
一再地拿来与这轻盈的身躯相比。

Escaping the fire of Wu's palace long ago,
For a thousand springs, in Chu's house you nest and grow.
Your wings, against wind and rain, are strong and fleet;
Your chirps, through doors and courtyards, sound frequent and sweet.
You skim the water, crossing the long, sandy bar;
You drop the caught worm, dust covering it afar.
Do not, O Empress of Han, I pray,
Always compare your fragile self to her, I say.
