白话文翻译
杂草本不是人们种植的，
却与嘉禾共同生长在一片田里。
老农实在厌恶它们，
怎能让它们与当季的庄稼一同被保留？
管叔和蔡叔如同盗跖，
本是同根所生，难道就能改变其恶质吗？
但这并不妨碍周公成为圣人，
也不妨碍柳下惠被称为贤人。
那除草者的做法真是贤明啊，
取舍之间，自有其道理。

Weeds are not what we cultivate,
Yet with fine crops they share the field.
The old farmer truly hates them,
How can he let them with the harvest yield?
Guan and Cai were like the robber Zhi,
Of the same stock, could they be reformed?
Yet Duke Zhou's sainthood was unharmed,
And Liu Xiahui's worth was still affirmed.
How wise was that weeding hand of old,
In choosing what to keep, what to discard!
