我来到东溪边观赏溪水，
坐在孤岛旁，迟迟不愿开船离去。
野鸭在岸边安眠，显得悠闲自在；
老树绽放花朵，没有一根枝条是丑陋的。
短短的蒲草嫩芽整齐得像修剪过一样；
平平的沙石洁净得胜过筛子筛过。
虽然心里对这景色毫不厌倦，却无法久留；
傍晚时分归来，车马都已疲惫。

I come to Eastern Creek to watch the water flow;
Sitting by a lone isle, I delay my boat's row.
Wild ducks sleep on the bank, carefree and at their ease;
Old trees put forth fresh blooms, no branches fail to please.
Short bulrush buds are trimmed as if by scissors' art;
Smooth sand and stones are clean, sieved fine and set apart.
Though I'm not tired of this, I cannot linger here;
At dusk I head back home, my carriage tired and drear.
