高高的树木环绕着我的茅庐，
黄昏时分，烟霭水气变得浓重。
将要栖息时，它们站立在巢穴旁，
已经抖擞羽毛，窥视着飘落的绒毛。
有飞来一同停在光秃枝桠上的，
也各自分开，并不相互依偎拥挤。
阴风飕飕，带来阵阵寒意，
夜雪将至，它们怎能不感到惊恐？

Tall trees encircle my abode,
At dusk, the mist and vapor grow heavy.
About to roost, they stand by their nests,
Already fluffed, they peer at fallen down.
Some come to share the same bare branch,
Yet each keeps apart, not huddling close.
The chilling, soughing wind is cold,
With night snow, how could they feel no fear?
