橘子到了冬天依然青绿，尚未变黄，
菊花已老，在寒霜中染成了紫色。
我并不知道此地的风土有多么美好，
只觉得日月飞驰，时光流逝得太快。
闲居的生活使我得以调养疾病，
调理气息、修养身心，关键正在于此。
从今以后，我便要就此隐退，
怎敢再被外物所驱使、劳碌奔波？
有谁能真正明白我的心意呢？
好在邻近的城邑中，有您这样一位君子。

The orange stays green, not yellow in winter's chill,
The old chrysanthemum turns purple under frost's will.
Unaware how fine the climate here may be,
I only feel the sun and moon speed endlessly.
In leisure, I recover from my ailment's strife,
To regulate my vital breath is here my life.
Henceforth, I shall retire and cease to roam,
Daring no more to be driven by worldly foam.
Who can truly understand the heart in me?
In neighboring town, there dwells a noble gentleman, you see.
