疏浚沟渠让活水畅行，
水声潺潺，空寂的庭院更显幽深。
堂前低洼之地虽如地母般狭小，
其中却蕴藏着万里奔流的江河。
往日里我曾辛苦操持、双手劳碌，
华美的屋舍转瞬已成荒芜山丘。
尚且留下这愚拙沟渠的痕迹，
用以洗刷我中山之行的羞惭。
即便是九河也将变为平坦陆地，
其兴灭盛衰犹如水泡般短暂。
以此自娱也不过是暂且为之，
南涧啊，你为何怀有如此多的忧愁？

I dredge the channel to let living water flow,
The water's murmur fills the empty, quiet yard.
The hall's low ground, a mother's lap, seems small and low,
Yet holds within a current flowing leagues afar.
My hands were once worn out with toil and bitter strife,
A splendid house soon turned to barren, wasted hill.
The traces of my foolish ditch remain in life,
To wash away the shame of Zhongshan, haunting still.
The Nine Rivers may turn to level plain and dry,
Their rise and fall are but a bubble's brief display.
To find some joy in this is merely passing by,
Why should South Stream bear so much worry and dismay?
