僧壁上的题名一半已残缺或错讹，
我重游此地，叹息着屡次抚摸壁面。
林中蝉鸣将歇，暮色中却又急促起来，
竹叶上的露水如倾泻般，秋意更加浓重。
用一半俸禄渐渐偿还往日赊欠的酒债，
旧衣衫已换成垂钓时穿的蓑衣。
在西窗看一眼那盘已停的枯棋，
归去途中，仍担忧斧柄会朽烂（喻时光虚度）。

Half the names on the temple wall are worn or wrong,
I come again, sighing, and stroke the stone, time and again.
Woods cicadas, dying down at dusk, renew their urgent song,
Bamboo dew, as if poured down, thickens with autumn's reign.
My half-pay slowly clears the tabs for wine I used to owe,
My old gown's changed for a straw cloak to fish by waterside.
West window: a glance at the dead chess game I let go,
Returning home, I still fear the axe handle's decay inside.
