虽然惭愧于江东那些繁华雄壮的州郡，
姑且看看人世间我这位精神矍铄的老翁。
在清澈的渭水边度过的十年真如昨梦；
万里之外的玉门关又吹起了萧瑟秋风。
凭靠着马鞍，心中撩动起追求功名的念头，
并不怨恨猿声惊扰，致使蕙帐空空。

Iron-clad steeds, a forest grim, with crimson kerchiefs bound their head;
Horns resound, flags cast their shade, beneath the setting sun's red spread.
Though shamed by Jiangzuo's prosperous towns, so rich and grand in their display,
Yet see this world's old, hale man stand, with vigor that does not decay.
Ten years by the clear Wei River seem but a dream of yesterday;
The Jade Pass, myriad miles away, feels autumn's wind begin to sway.
Leaning on my saddle, thoughts of fame and merit start to stir and rise—
I do not regret the gibbon's cry that empties my orchid tent, under the skies.
