虽然它们奏成了两部鼓吹般的乐声，
我却遗憾丢失了一编珍贵的书籍。
它们的忿怒是因为什么事呢？
那号呼的叫声真让人无可奈何。
厨人没有远远地抛弃它们，
它们还能在溪边与鱼儿为伴。

Where have the tadpoles gone? The frogs now croak with might,
Though they perform a two-part symphony in sound,
I mourn the loss of a precious book I once had.
What stirs their rage and wrath, I wonder in my heart?
Their noisy cries are more than I can bear to hear.

Still lets them stay to keep the stream fish company.
