夏季雨水泛滥，又转而盼望天晴。
米粮已尽，柴薪也断绝；
上涨的洪水与台阶齐平。
山中传来消息，获得了新收的粟米；
我欣然聆听着舂米的声音。
书生容易感到满足；
笔和砚台依然还在使用。
南风吹干了柱下的基石；
西斜的阳光照亮了窗户，一片明净。
这雨难道终于停了吗？

Long drought in spring had us yearning for rain;
Summer floods now make us long for sun again.
Rice and firewood are both exhausted and gone;
Rising waters reach the steps, level with the stone.
News from the hills brings fresh millet in store;
Joyfully I listen to the pounding once more.
A scholar's heart is easily content and pleased;
Brush and inkstone are still used as he pleased.
South wind dries the pillar base, dampness cleared;
Western sun shines through the window, bright and cheered.
Has the rain finally ceased its endless pour?
Strive hard for autumn harvest, now and evermore.
