炽热的太阳收起了它火一般的伞盖，
清凉的露水贮存在冰壶之中。
大海在四更天涌动着月光，
风从千顷蒲草之上生起。
我放歌狂吟，忘却了自己已至暮年之境，
心意豁达，失去了穷途末路之感。
所遗憾的是一众好友都已不在人世，
再没有人能与我一起拈须谈笑了。

The blazing sun withdraws its fiery canopy,
Clear dew is stored within a vase of ice.
The sea swells with the moon at the fourth watch,
The wind rises over a thousand acres of reeds.
Singing wildly, I forget my age and plight,
My heart so open, I lose the sense of a dead end.
What pains me is that all my friends are gone,
And no one is here to stroke my beard with me.
