清静的夜晚,我像嵇康一样锻铁;
What did I gain from being an official at first?
In poverty, I dwell half as a scholar, half as a farmer.
In the clear night, like Xi Kang, I forge at the furnace;
At dawn, like Liang Hong, I pound grain with the pestle.
Even grinding with a horse-mill sustains my days;
A coarse hemp coat also sees me through the winter.
There is a hermit whistling on the lake —
How can I find a way to follow him?
