河水上涨，渐渐漫过了堤岸，
云层低垂，几乎淹没了村庄。
茭白和蒲草中野鸭乱作一团，
泥泞的积水困住了鸡和猪。
我摆弄笔墨以排遣孤独烦闷，
煎煮茶水来洗去昏昏睡意。
荒凉的郊野多有盗贼出没，
还是及早关上柴门吧。

The rising water slowly eats the shore;
The low-hung clouds half hide the village lost.
Wild ducks and geese 'mid reeds and sedges roar;
In muddy floods the pigs and fowls are crossed.
To brush and ink I turn to ease my gloom;
To brew some tea I do to wash my sleep.
On the wild moor dog-thieves have ample room,
So early bar the wicket, safe to keep.
