偶然想去东边的堤坝走走，
却不知不觉走向了北面的村围。
投宿的鸟儿在暮色中方定，
飘飞的萤火虫在雨中更显光辉。
归来时并未觉得天色已晚，
只闻更漏声从重重城阙下坠。

The long waters submerge the fragrant isle,
The rising wind sets the fishing boat adrift.
By chance I seek the eastern dam's path awhile,
Yet find myself to the northern village's shift.
The roosting birds settle as dusk grows deep,
The drifting fireflies gleam brighter in the rain.
Returning home, I feel no lateness creep,
As the water-clock drips down the city's domain.
