东方星磊磊，西舍鸡喔喔。

dōng fāng xīng lěi lěi， xī shè jī wō wō。

ㄉㄨㄥㄈㄤㄒㄧㄥㄌㄟˇ ㄌㄟˇ，ㄒㄧㄕㄜˋ ㄐㄧㄨㄛㄨㄛ。

万虑集五更，吾睡无由着。

wàn lǜ jí wǔ gēng， wú shuì wú yóu zhuó。

世事如饮酒，不献自无酢。

东方的星星明亮繁多，

西边屋舍的鸡喔喔啼叫。

万千思绪都聚集在五更时分，

我无法入睡，毫无办法。

世间的事情就像饮酒，

你不主动敬酒，自然不会有回敬。

打开窗户，端身危坐起来，

目送月亮向西南方落下。

Stars in the east are clustered bright,

Cocks in the west crow with all might.

A thousand worries gather at the fifth watch near,

I find no way to fall asleep, it's all too clear.

Worldly affairs are like drinking wine,

If you don't offer, no toast will be thine.

I open the window and sit upright with care,

To see the moon set southwest in the air.
