小船护着烟波堤岸旁的鸭子，
篱笆引导着牛儿从草径归来。
辛勤劳作后，用什么来慰藉自己呢？
去茅草搭的小店，询问新滤好的酒。

Having declined the official salary, as is fit,
I support my frail self through another autumn, bit by bit.
Already using poverty to barter for health, I strive,
And further rely on learning to forget my cares, to thrive.
My boat shelters ducks by the misty bank, a peaceful scene,
The fence guides the ox back along the grassy path, serene.
How to console myself for this toil, this labor's cost?
At the thatched tavern, I ask for the newly brewed, and am lost.
