八月在石帆山正值秋天，姑且作一次漫无目的的遨游。
本是因为寻访朋友而出门，却因为贪看山色而停留。
像小草般在僧壁上题写诗句，放声长吟登上驿楼。
明月能参与我们的豪饮，青天可以寄托闲愁。
品评泉水的高下优劣，纵横交错地记录酒筹。
看见花开就入门观赏，水涨了就任凭船只漂流。
刚直不阿的人虽被世人抛弃，圆滑谄媚我却自己感到羞愧。
这番心意你若不相信，
试着去问问那沙洲上的鸥鸟。

In autumn's eighth month at Stone Sail, I roamed as fancy led;
I left to seek a friend, but lingered for the mountains instead.
On temple walls I scribbled verses, brief as grass;
In post-house towers I chanted long, my voice would pass.
The moon could join our wild carousals, deep we'd drink;
The sky could hold the leisure sorrows that we think.
We judged the springs, from high to low, their taste to rate;
We kept the tally of our wine, in纵横 debate.
Where flowers bloomed, we entered any open gate;
Where waters swelled, we trusted boats to steer our fate.
The upright man the world may spurn, coarse and unrefined;
The fawning, slick, I hold in scorn, to shame resigned.
If you, my friend, believe not this heart's true design,
Go ask the gulls upon the sand—they'll tell you mine.
