Clad in the scholar's simple garb, he lived in peace,
His conduct, guided by his heart, knew no pretense.
In this age of peace, he was taken away at last,
A venerable man, from our midst too soon passed.
The ancient trees stand tall, their deep green hue profound,
While tender new branches sprout fresh from the ground.
Hearing the neighbor's flute at night, a mournful air,
My aging tears fall freely, dampening my wear.
