为了他人而丧失自我，恰恰会失去自己。
获得自我，才算是拥有了最重要的东西。
丧失自我，是极其可耻的事情。
与其像乞讨者那样在坟间求生，
不如用衣袖遮面，尊严地死去。
身处贫贱时，不要失掉自己的气节；
身处富贵时，也不要争强好胜。
困顿与显达本非内心所求，
要安然接受道义与命运的安排。
人从上天那里接受使命，
只有颜回和孟子能独自持守正道。

To perfect oneself is to complete all things.
To serve others at the cost of self is to lose oneself.
To gain this self is to hold what is most weighty.
To lose it is a matter of deepest shame.
Better to die with sleeves covering one's face in dignity,
Than to live by begging at graves in disgrace.
In poverty and lowliness, do not lose your true colors;
In wealth and honor, do not strive in contention.
Adversity and success are not of the heart's intent;
Be at peace with righteousness and fate.
Man receives his mandate from Heaven;
