身后的名声有什幺用呢？
人已逝去，思念之情却愈发深切。
盖上棺椁，悲叹昨日的梦想已成空；
挂起宝剑，以此回应他最初的志向。
他潜藏的美德依然能够发扬光大；
他留下的遗言至今仍可寻味。
哀悼元公，情意更为痛切；
墓地相连，柏树森然茂密。

What use is fame after one's death?
The man is gone, our thoughts of him grow deeper.
The coffin closed, we mourn the dreams of yesterday;
The sword hung up, we answer to his original heart.
His hidden virtues still can blossom forth;
His parting words remain for us to seek.
Mourning for Yuan, our feelings are more acute;
By the joined graves, the cypresses stand dense and dark.
