The great river pours into the eastern sea,
In October, wind and waves surge mightily.
The boatman, to make his living, must be bold,
And thrust his arms to brave the billows uncontrolled.
I say, my friend, do not be filled with dread;
The path of life is fraught with perils ahead.

This river's calm is a promise you can keep.
