昔日皇帝的船桅与乌鸦曾降临天边，
御驾曾在此停留，翩跹徘徊，留下清雅的足迹。
鱼龙潜藏的洞窟幽暗，春水悄然上涨，
野鸭与大雁成行低飞，划破了暮色烟霭。
星阁已然倾颓，空度了漫长岁月，
荒芜的城池埋没了旧日的山川形胜。
后庭一曲终致陈朝破灭，
更可看当年那《水调》的流传与咏叹。

Once the imperial mast and crow descended by the sun's side,
Where the royal carriage once lingered, circling with grace and pride.
In the dragon-fish den, dark waters swell with spring's rising tide,
Wild geese and ducks fly low, piercing the dusk mist far and wide.
The starry tower lies in ruins, years and months in vain have fled,
The desolate city buries old mountains and rivers, long dead.
With the Chen court's fall, the "Rear Court Melody" was sung no more,
Yet still we hear the ancient "Water Melody" from yore.
