山头的云朵好似白雪，
田间小路上的树木宛如人影。
渐渐觉得高空的星星稀少起来，
刚刚才分辨出远处新的野火。
何必烦劳去看路旁的里程土堆？
往来于这渡口，我在黑暗中自知路径。

The innwife sees me off with a bright lamp,
The village ahead is not yet clearly seen.
Clouds on the mountain peak look like snow,
Trees on the path resemble figures of men.
Gradually I feel the high stars grow few,
Just now I discern distant fires anew.
Why bother checking the road-marking mound?
Familiar with the ford, I come and go in the dark.
