Fireflies transform, born from the grass;
Ants gather their kingdom on the locust tree.
Falsely granted the marquisate, a farce;
Usurping the Terrace of Longing, a travesty.
Deep in the earth, they plot their winter's lair;
When the tenth month comes, frost will be there.
So vast is heaven and earth, a boundless sphere;
How petty, how small, you creatures appear!
