晚年才明白，才华是一种祸害；
深居简出，学习养生之道。
于是知道景升的儿子，
比少游的兄长要稍好一些。
在绝涧边带着瓶子打水；
在空山中抱着农具耕种。
儿孙们，听我这番苦口婆心的话：
世世代代，不要谈论用兵打仗之事。

Too late I learned that talent is a curse;
In seclusion, I now study to preserve life.
Thus I know the son of Jing Sheng
Is somewhat better than the brother of Shao You.
I fetch water with a jar from the cliff-bound stream;
I plow the empty hills, holding the plow.
My children and grandchildren, heed this bitter word:
From generation to generation, never discuss war.
