我的朋友是赤松子那样的仙人，
我的兄弟是孤竹君那样的高士。
我们共同寻求对床夜话的约定，
更进一步将半山之地分而居之。
朝廷新的诏令授予了清贵显要的官职，
但这又何须在官籍上刻下名字呢？

Not only am I weary of seeking advancement,
I have also cut off all news from the world.
My friends are the Red Pine Immortals,
My brothers, the Noble Lords of Lonely Bamboo.
Together we seek the promise of sharing a bed in conversation,
And further divide the half-hill between us.
A new decree grants a lofty, icy official rank,
But why need one carve one's name in the register?
