红叶怎能映照我病中的容颜？
万重云山勾起我悠远的憾恨，
满轩风物送来秋天的寒意。
背着琴的鹤客归向松间小径，
横吹笛子的牧童卧在蓼花滩头。
独自倚靠郡楼，生出无限思绪，
夕阳向西沉落，江水向东流去。

How can the red maple leaves reflect my ailing face?
Layers upon layers of cloud-capped mountains feed my distant sorrow,
A pavilion full of scenery sends forth the autumn chill.
A crane-riding lute-bearer returns to the pine-lined path,
A cowherd with a flute lies on the knotweed beach.
Alone I lean on the county tower with boundless thoughts,
As the sun sets westward, the waters flow eastward.
