走到穷途末路，百事无成，
或许应该营造一处归隐的居所。
可依然像身处大槐安国的梦境中，
做着蚂蚁穴里封侯拜相的幻梦。
人生不过就是睡眠与吃饭罢了，
身外之物更是多余的累赘。
科举功名就交给那些先生们去追求吧，
我老了，该是归去休息的时候了。

At road's end, nothing achieved, all plans in vain,
Perhaps I'll build a cottage to retire in peace.
Yet still, like in the dream of the great locust tree's domain,
An ant-hill fantasy of titles and increase.
Life is but eating and sleeping, a simple affair;
Beyond material things, all else is but excess care.
Let scholarly fame and rank to others be bestowed;
I'm old, it's time for me to tread the homeward road.
