天阔雁何之，沈云字字稀。

tiān kuò yàn hé zhī， chén yún zì zì xī。

明知从北至，又说是南归。

míng zhī cóng běi zhì， yòu shuō shì nán guī。

天空辽阔，大雁要飞往何处？

沉沉的云层下，雁字渐渐稀疏。

明明知道它们是从北方飞来，

却又说是向南归去。

战争的气息侵逼，使飞行更加急促，

黄河的水声在背影后变得微弱。

江湖上霜降的消息还很遥远，

城郭的主人已非往昔。

它们不吝惜被弓弦惊扰而获得，

只担忧系着的帛书会遗失。

在河梁送别的人们依依不舍，

就像你一样，不能飞翔。

Under the vast sky, where do the wild geese go?

Against the heavy clouds, their script grows faint and rare.

Well knowing they come from the north,

Yet again it's said they head south for home.

The aura of war hastens their urgent flight,

The river's sound fades behind their receding forms.

The frost's message from rivers and lakes is distant,

The city's master is no longer the same.

They do not fear the startling twang of the bowstring,

But only worry a silk message may be lost.

At the river bridge, people part in sorrow,

Like you, unable to take wing and fly.
