屋舍旁侧生长着万竿翠竹，绿意盎然，
竹声萧萧，终年都显得十分美好。
竹林深处绿得浓密，仿佛有精怪隐藏，
老根盘曲虬结，又让人担心蛰伏着龙蛇。
我修剪剔除杂枝，扶持它们傲霜的节操，
将它们分株移植，用到了马鞭的柄。
世间已没有嵇康、阮籍那样超脱的高士，
终究是辜负了这山野人家的清幽意趣。

Beside my cottage, myriad green bamboos stand tall,
Their rustling whispers grace the seasons, best of all.
In depths of emerald, shadowy spirits seem to hide,
Where ancient roots fear dragons and serpents coiled inside.
I prune and trim to aid their frost-defying might,
Divide and spread them, using horsewhip's handle tight.
In this world, no souls like Ji Kang or Ruan Ji remain,
Who'd slight this rustic home, its simple, wild domain?
