浓密的乌云连接着海面，
急促的暴雨使淮河潮水上涨。
沙洲和小岛渐渐被淹没，
远处的城郭在昏暗中显得模糊而遥远。
在艰险的旅途上，我依仗着忠信之德，
希望能乘着旋风高高飞起。
若不是怀有这南行远游的兴致，
又有谁能来慰藉我内心的寂寥呢？

Dark clouds stretch across the sea's face,
A sudden rain swells the Huai's tide.
Gradually, islets and sandbars are erased,
Dimly, the distant city walls hide.
On perilous roads, loyalty and faith are my stay,
To soar aloft, I pray for a whirlwind's aid.
If not for this southern journey's grand display,
Who then could soothe the lonely heart, dismayed?
