停下车子短暂地亲近交谈。
车马都带着行旅的风尘之色，
衣裳上还沾染着洛阳的尘土。
询问他拄着竹杖从冉駹之地而来，
探问道路是自峨眉岷山那边出发。
回头说起分别时的心意，
悠然间已经过去了四个春天。

At the western outskirts, I meet an old friend,
We halt our carriages, in brief closeness blend.
Our steeds and coaches bear the marks of the road,
Our robes still carry dust from Luoyang's abode.
I ask of his journey from lands far and wide,
He tells of the paths from Mount E'mei's steep side.
We speak of the feelings when we said goodbye,
And find four springs have passed in the blink of an eye.
