人的好恶常与它相违背。
开始耕种时苦于炎热的干旱,
等到收获时雨水却已过时节。
憔悴与干旱、迟雨都无补于事,
饥寒交迫的生活正由此开始。
能吃饱粗茶淡饭尚且可以依靠,
我深情地诉说着去采撷薇菜。
Heaven's ways are far from human ken;
Our likes and dislikes often clash with them.
At first, the ploughing suffered from scorching drought;
Then harvest came, but rain fell out of time.
Both states left us gaunt, with no relief in sight,
As hunger and cold now begin their reign.
To be sated on plain fare could still be relied upon;
With longing, I speak of plucking the wild fern.

诗人感慨天道高远,常与人的好恶相违背。
