姿态婉约的是丹山的凤凰，
飘飘然飞翔万里之遥。
识时务而翻转羽翼，
看见德行的光辉便降临。
超逸的气势凌云而起，
和谐的声音应和着微弱的箫声。
即使身处九重云霄，仍俯身眷顾，
唯有在治世，它才懂得归来。
起初全不忧虑弓箭的伤害，
梧桐树正是可以依托的所在。
愿能分享阿阁的一隅之地，
永远告别楚国狂人的讥讽。

Graceful is the phoenix of the Cinnabar Hills,
Soaring freely across ten thousand miles.
Knowing the times, it turns its feathered wings;
Seeing virtue's glow, it descends with light.
Its soaring force ascends to touch the clouds;
Its harmonious voice follows the faintest flute.
From the highest heavens, it still looks down with care,
In a well-governed age, it alone knows where to return.
At first, no fear of arrows or of strings;
The parasol tree is just the place to rest.
I wish to share a corner of the Phoenix Loft,
And forever escape the madman of Chu's scorn.
