Far and near, they face each other in mutual grace.
A cold pool sinks into the valley's deep fold,
The dragon's gone—who knows to what abode?
Distinct on the sand, the stones lie clear and cold,

At dusk, a lad comes home, his work done and past,
Across a reclining ox, his flute's blown at last.
