在狭窄之地穿过茅屋显得笨拙，
高高的城墙上，夕阳西斜。
竹篱笆侵入了水面，
溪边的女子在沙洲上浣洗衣纱。
老树垂挂着红色的果实，
悬垂的藤蔓结着白色的花。
绿色的浮萍漂着细碎的光点，
芳香的杜若长出了新芽。
一座城邑有超过千户人家，
许多家庭拥有不多的资财。
只有鱼虾和菰米为伴，
我惆怅地思量着这样的生涯。

Through narrow ground, a clumsy hut I pierce;
On the high city wall, the setting sun slants low.
The bamboo fence encroaches on the water's face;
By the sandy shore, the stream-maidens wash and go.
The aged tree lets down its crimson fruit with grace;
From hanging vines, the clusters of white blossoms grow.
Green duckweeds float, adorned with specks of broken light;
Fragrant thoroughwax puts forth new buds, tender and bright.
A single town holds over a thousand homes in sight;
Countless are the families with modest wealth and might.
With fish and shrimp, and wild rice grains, my lot is cast—
In melancholy thought, I muse upon life vast.
