我愧居东北边地的官职，
年老笨拙又能说些什幺呢？
官署事务常交付给下属处理，
宾客的车马很少来到门前。
临近池塘观赏游鱼的乐趣，
倚着手杖聆听禽鸟的喧鸣。
不要怨恨这三年任期最为漫长，
从今往后就在此养育子孙。

I hold a post in the northeast frontier,
What more can this old, clumsy man say?
Official duties I often leave aside,
Few guests' carriages come to my door.
By the pond I watch fish at their play,
Leaning on my staff, I listen to birds' chatter.

From now on, I'll raise sons and grandsons here.
