人世间的变化是多么无常，
并不在于来世或遥远的他方。
病后的公羊悲哀地化作了猛虎，
回顾历史，司马懿一族露出了狼子野心。
沉睡的龙醒来，参天大树骤然生长；
年迈的龟依然支撑着病弱老者的床榻。
却还有这类事物偏偏如此长久地存在，
并非因为天地或太阳的时间变长了。

How inconstant are the changes in the mortal world!
They lie not in other lives or distant realms.
The sick ram, in sorrow, transforms into a tiger;
The Sima clan, in time, reveals its wolfish heart.
The dormant dragon awakes, towering trees reach for the sky;
The aged tortoise still props the bed of an ailing elder.
Yet these persist, enduring beyond measure—
It is not that heaven, earth, or sun have grown longer.
