他登高远眺，穷尽了所有险阻漫长的道路。
说要穿越峡谷之中，
又想要去遨游沧海。
车辙离去不再返回，
驰道残缺，处处遗留。
你看那鼎湖的百姓，
尚且敬畏着轩辕黄帝的陵丘。

The First Emperor's heart, in its extravagance, knew no bounds;
He climbed and gazed, exhausting all the rugged, winding paths.
He spoke of passing through the gorges' narrow way,
And then desired to roam the vast and boundless sea.
The ruts of his chariot wheels departed, never to return;
The imperial road, broken, was left in disrepair.
Look at the people by the Tripod Lake, I say,
Who still hold in awe the mound of the Yellow Emperor.
