自孔子感伤麒麟被获而反袂拭泪之后，
这旧日的杏坛便显得凄凉冷落。
但它仍被人们所爱惜保护，
不让杏树凋零残败。
树叶映衬着黧黑的树林，景色美好，
枝条横斜在泗水之上，透着寒意。
自从孔子这样的栋梁之材逝去，
人们常来此看着落花纷飞。
自古便有棠树思念召伯的典故，
而如今林木中又有了韩愈这样的贤者。
遥想那槐树并排而立，
古老的根柢盘曲如龙。

After the sorrow of the unicorn's demise, the sleeve turned back in grief,
The old altar stands desolate, a relic of bygone days.
Still cherished by the people's hearts, it remains preserved,
Ensuring the apricot trees do not wither or decay.
Their leaves shine bright against the dark woods, a pleasing sight,
Their branches stretch across the Si River, cold and bare.
Since the pillar of the state departed, fallen like a great beam,
Many have come to gaze upon the drifting petals there.
From ancient times, the pear tree recalled the grace of Shao,
And now, the woods hold the legacy of Han.
Far off, I know the locust trees stand side by side,
Their ancient roots coiled like a dragon, strong and grand.
