我们的心志如同金石般坚固同心，多么美好；
你的每一句话，都能启发我、激励我。
这种情谊，应当足以比拟编结兰草的雅事；
那《诗经》中'伐木'篇所倡导的友谊之义，又该如何看待呢？
我们慷慨地倾吐真情已经很久了；
你那如兰的芬芳，初次进入我的居室。
倘若诺言能够像布帛一样一诺千金地布施；
便不必像屈原那样佩戴多种香草来彰显高洁。
花椒和山茱萸这类庸材或许能欺蒙世人；
但青松与寒梅，才适合与他为友。
我们时常举杯相对，一同饮酒；
在园中共享清淡的蔬菜，过着恬淡的生活。

Our hearts, like metal and stone, are firm and true;
Your words, each one, can rouse and inspire me anew.
To stringing orchids, this bond should be compared;
What of the felling wood's meaning, how is it fared?
Long have we shared our feelings with fervor and might;
Your fragrance first entered my chamber, pure and bright.
If promises can be spread as a single cloth;
No need to wear the threefold adornment of Qu.
Pepper and prickly ash may try to deceive me;
Pine and plum, fitting friends, should keep him company.
We raise our cups, facing each other, drinking wine;
Sharing plain garden vegetables, a life so fine.
