春雨已连绵了一百二十日，
而夏雨，我知道，又将再次滂沱而至。
大麦与小麦已遭水患损害，
这灾祸也波及了秫米与稻禾。
对秫米与稻禾尚存一丝希望，
但连绵阴雨却给人带来病害的消息。
云师挟持着风伯，
被我们的斥责与轻蔑驱赶而去。
大地无法干透，时令的和谐已被扰乱；
山野老人吃着病弱的粟米，一餐饱饭便已满足，再无他求。
军需储备耗尽了邻国的资源，
面对这些面黑肌赤的百姓，又能如何？
谁能成为通达四方的聪慧之耳，
通过升迁与贬黜来明辨是非？
像皋陶和夔那样坐着陈献谋略，
任用廉颇那样的将领来抵御外侮。
若能上合天公的心意，
立刻就能迎来击壤而歌的太平盛世。

Spring rain has lasted a hundred and twenty days,
And summer rain, I know, will come again in spate.
The barley and the wheat have suffered from the flood,
Which also damages the millet and the grain.
There's still some hope for millet and the grain,
But constant rain brings people word of blight and pain.
The Cloud God, with the Wind Earl in his train,
Is driven off by our reproach and our disdain.
The earth can never dry, the season's law's undone;
The mountain man eats sickly grain, one meal's enough, no more to shun.
The army's stores drain neighboring states, what can be done
For all these common folk, so black and red, under the sun?
Who will be wise enough to hear from far and near,
Promoting some, dismissing others, making all things clear?
Sit like Gao Yao and Kui, advising with your plan,
And use a general like Lian Po to guard the land.
If only you could move the heart of Heaven above,
Then soon we'd hear the songs of peace, the songs of love.
