佛寺依水而建，
耗费功夫清除水边的蓬草和荻花。
河岸破损处有成群的鱼儿游出，
高危的树枝上独居着一只鹤。
定时的钟声响起，僧人早早入睡；
挥动着麈尾，客人们空谈闲聊。
月光洒满佛龛，灯火显得微小，
风停了，幡旗的影子稀疏。
供盘上摆满了佛果，
僧人的饭食饱含园中的蔬菜。
唯有那位开山的老僧，
清高自守，闭居于草庐之中。

A temple by the water built,
Reeds and rushes cleared with toil.
From broken bank, fish schools spilt;
On perilous branch, a crane sole.
The fixed bell rings, monks sleep early;
With whisk in hand, guests talk idly.
The moon fills the niche, lamp burns small;
Wind stops, banners' shadows sprawl.
Offering plates hold Buddha's fruit;
Monks' meals are filled with garden's root.
Only the mountain's founder old,
Lives pure and aloof in grass hold.
