怎会因被投闲置散就熄灭济世的机心？
南方忽然听闻国家栋梁摧折的消息，
中原百姓仍在盼望你身着衮衣归来。
你平生学问只求内心真切领悟，
但晚年的功名却与你的心愿相违。
我年老多病，无法亲自执绋为你送葬，
只有空中的疾风带着我沾湿衣襟的泪水。

Your loyal words and upright conduct moved both our land and the foe,
How could you, cast aside, forgo your duty and let your spirit low?
The southern realm hears, shocked, the pillar's fall, the great beam's break,
While the central plains still hope to see your royal robes return for their sake.
All your life, your learning was a matter of the heart's own light,
But fame and merit in your later years betrayed your wish despite.
Old and ill, I cannot join the funeral train to pay my due,
Only the soaring wind bears my tears that soak my robe through and through.
