东风吹开小竹帘，倚着栏杆，
乱山明暗交错，溪水萦绕回旋。
流逝的年华渐渐与春光一同远去，
暴热却又随着雨后天晴而来。
天气浑浊，让人昏昏欲睡，
地势极为低洼，植物比梅花更早萌发。
由此知道楚客失魂落魄的地方，
并非江东不值得哀伤。

Wild mountains light and dark, waters winding through the glade.
Fleeting years depart along with spring's fair bloom,
Sudden heat returns as clearing skies resume.
The turbid air makes most men long for sleep,
The low-lying land sees plums awake from slumber deep.
Thus I know the place where southern souls go astray—
It's not that eastern rivers hold no grief to make them stay.
