从梦中醒来，看到池塘边的青草长得十分茂盛，
微风吹拂着被雾气沾湿的草叶，它们已是一片繁茂菲菲的景象。
连绵的山色与青草相接，不知延伸向多么遥远的地方，
心中惆怅，不知那远游的王孙何时才能归来。
我微小的生命也知道自己烦劳了雨露的滋养，
但这寸草之心终究想要报答春天阳光的温暖。
芳香的草根纵然腐烂，仍能化作春泥，滋养新生，
引得蝴蝶飞舞、黄莺啼鸣，处处生机盎然。

Awake from dreams, I see the pond's green grass so lush and deep,
The wind sways mist-dampened fronds, their verdant spread so vast and steep.
The rolling hills in verdant hue stretch far beyond my sight,
Forlorn, I wonder when the roving lord will end his flight.
My humble form knows well it troubles both the rain and dew,
Yet this inch-long heart still yearns to repay the spring sun's hue.
Though fragrant roots may rot and turn to earth, they yet transform,
Where dancing butterflies and orioles on breezes swarm.
