睡醒起来，西风轻轻拂过鬓角，
庭院寂寥，傍晚的寒意已然生成。
浮云便作飞鸿远游的意态，
细雨仍兼带着落叶飘零的声响。
外物不求多余，随处都能知足，
事情若能省减，内心即刻清明。
山林隐居与朝廷市井其实都相似，
何必执着地区分隐居耕种与仕途功名。

The courtyard, desolate, breathes evening's growing chill.
The floating clouds assume the wild geese's wandering air,
The drizzling rain still carries fallen leaves' soft thrill.
With no excess desires, contentment's everywhere;
When matters can be simplified, the mind grows still.
The wooded hills and courtly town are much the same—
Why must one cling to fishing, farming, or to fame?
