我长久滞留在这南方的戍所，
徘徊流连，绕着边塞的城墙。
海上的雾气在清晨便显得昏暗，
山间的岚气在白昼也常常迷茫。
虫穴中吹来的风带着毒气，
蛮荒的溪流涌出浑浊的水。
故乡正处在遥远的思念中，
斜阳下更有猿猴的哀啼。

Slow-paced, I roam along the fortress wall.
Sea mists darken the morning at most,
Mountain vapors shroud the day, a constant pall.
From insect holes, the wind blows venomous air,
From barbarous streams, the muddy waters flow.

As slanting sun and crying apes enhance my woe.
