世道既然令人感叹路途断绝，
您为何还如此深爱我？
愧对（我这）瓦缶般粗陋的诗句，
姑且用它来酬答您南金般贵重的赠诗。

A guest knocks on the gunwale, a sound serene,
An ancient melody, pure and keen.
The clear breeze comes over the water's face,
The bright moonlight fills the river's embrace.
The world laments its roads are blocked and done,
Why do you, sir, love me so deep, so profound?
Ashamed of my earthen jar's clumsy verse,
I offer it in reply to your southern gold, terse.
