著名的寺院紧邻着城门，两株高大的桧树巍然耸立。
它们得此宝地，并不孤立无依，迎着风彼此相对而立。
树根盘曲如凶恶的龙，狰狞可怖；树叶修剪得像苍璧，破碎成片片翠绿。
交错的枝干如扭结的顽铜，层叠的树影形成森然的翠盖。
刚劲有力，无需藤萝依附托身；笔直挺拔，足以与松柏相配。
争相竞高，有大夫的豪迈气概；耻于模仿，小儿女的忸怩姿态。
霜雪正肆虐地摧残万物，草木任凭其颠沛流离。
在岁寒时节同心同德，在烟霞之外保持端正的色泽。
虽未经斧斤的修剪雕琢，志向与节操已崇高卓越。
超群出众的才华令人惊叹，有所作为者器量必定宏大。
建造房屋需要高大的栋梁，渡过大河要等待舟船承载。

They gained this ground, not standing in isolation, / Facing each other, braving the wind's irritation.
Their roots coil like fierce dragons, grim and dire; / Their leaves, like jade shards cut, a verdant fire.
Their intertwined boughs knot like stubborn bronze; / Their layered shadows cast a canopy, deep-drawn.
Robust, they need no ivy's clinging aid; / Upright, with pines and cypresses they're weighed.
They vie in height, a gentleman's proud air, / Ashamed to mimic children's posture fair.
When frost and snow descend with ruthless might, / And plants and trees are ravaged in their plight,
In winter's cold, their hearts in union stay; / Beyond the mist and glow, their hues hold sway.
Though axe and adze have yet to carve and hone, / Their will and virtue have already grown.
